Before I saw the link, I actually thought this was a joke about just using mace like the "spray at people" kind, in the quest to make food even spicier and/or more unpleasant to eat. But I suppose in that case, that would have been "I can't taste the mac and cheese with it, either, send help."

The fact that a company managed to get a monopoly on seeds and get farmers to sign those ridiculous contracts shouldn't even pass the giggle test. The cancer denial and cover-up on top is just bonkers.

Did they teach proper form for white flattening? ;)

(IIRC they had a special dedicated machine for making... I dunno if it was flat whites or something else, but I called it the white flattener because it looked ridiculous - maybe you know what the deal with that thing was!)

Couldn't say precisely why, but having been to Australia, can confirm that a flat white from tiny hotel cafe or anywhere else there is better than anything Starbucks in the US makes in terms of being about the coffee. (Loves me a white mocha or cake pop, but those are not at all about the coffee)

It feels like there's an opportunity here for a witty verbal riposte. "Because we're going to make it fine," or similar. Left as an exercise to the reader who "we" is.

"Afters" were a pretty common thing for me when I was LARPing - find the nearest place with food that was acceptable and cheap, and had enough space for a couple dozen nerds to geek out about everything that happened for 2-3 hours. Hadn't thought of it as aftercare, but yeah, checks out.

In an age where Sesame Street needs to be bailed out by corporations, it is a solace to know that Crash Course stands supported by the masses. Thank you and the team for all the hard work - the product of said work is amazing.
