I don’t trust the GOP to organize a bake sale.

I just think it’s better than accepting just a CR.

It’s also the best way to pin the ACA on the GOP from an optics perspective.

I don’t *like* it, but I understand why the Democrats are considering it. Letting the shutdown go on indefinitely while people are unable to feed their families isn’t the answer.

Getting 80% of what we want is better than getting nothing.

There’s a lot of talk about the ‘post-Trump GOP’ going on behind the scenes.

The incredible thing to me is that they just seem to have figured this out… it’s been pretty obvious since the midterms of his first term. His voters don’t show up if he’s not on the ballot.

I think (if he makes it that long) as we get closer to the end of his term - or possibly midterms, depending on how fucked the GOP still is from an approval rating perspective - those leaks will start, particularly if Trump reignites the 3rd term BS

They want an off-ramp. They just need his voters.

The only real alternative would be to oust Johnson from Speakership and elect someone else, and that’s not happening.

She’s never given me a reason to doubt her decency, and I suspect this will turn out the same.

I think he’s going to try. I hope a court forces his hand before that - there’s at least one lawsuit pending right now.
