Like that day we wasted waiting for The Northern Lights to open, and the Schrödinger's tap room in The Ulster Sports Club which was simultaneously open and closed, meaning the only way to know which it was, was interacting will a belligerent bum-fluff moustached bellend. I've not been back to either

Drinks licence scarcity creates the need for bigger pubs. Rates are usually calculated on the size of the premises. So these huge pubs, which are a workaround to the licensing restrictions their owners support, cost them more in rates, than they would if they opened separate pubs. It's hilarious.

John Wyndham's "The Kraken Wakes", set in the 1950s. That, and pretty much any classic 2000AD strip, but especially Strontium Dog, The ABC Warriors, Fiends Of The Eastern Front, Cradlegrave, Killing Time, Zenith and Button Man

"they sell short dated beer" is a "insight" usually proffered by people after their third pint of Coors Light and a microwaved curry in their local Hungry Horse, located on a retail park beside a Halfords.

Pat Mills? You mean John Wagner and the estate of Carlos Ezquerra.
December 5, 2025 at 12:28 PM
Or more precisely, what John Wagner has written since he co-created the character in 1977 with Carlos Ezquerra. Dredd is a warning, not a frigging blueprint.

You'd have imagined, given how successful it was, there'd have been sequels to "Raiders Of The Lost Ark". Though, given how sequels to other films nuked the fridge (I'm looking at you Superman III), I'm happy they didn't
