Who's that? For our Victorian friends, he was kind of like a precursor Neil Mitchell.

I have so much angst and frustration for the current day and occasionally the rest of the week I don't have headspace to deal with fears for the distant future. Can highly recommend. Good for weight loss and jaw muscle tone as well.

I feel awkward saying this, but one of the things I learnt was you can't change someone in that place with opposing views. You might be able to make them see the ridiculousness of the more extreme positions. Big love and strength, it's hard seeing someone drink the poison.

It's pretty windy. Lots of branches down around NE Melbourne, but haven't seen major damage.

Perhaps, I guess it depends how long it is before it's reported stolen.

I wonder if, having decided the police won't stop looking, he's already tens of km down the Buckland Valley on his way to steal a car and relocate to another wild place thousands of km away. Anyway, I'm glad I'm a long way from there.

As an Australian, I think that bill is motivated by the success of crowd funded independents in taking seats (districts) from the major parties rather than trying to save Australian democracy from the Clive Palmer, Gina Rinehart and Elon Musks of the world.

My Dad is the other side of 80 and I'm surprised after any call he doesn't inadvertently forget I'm not his brother and roll out all the tropes. Fortunately he's relying on conversation scripts more so he ends the call after they've been exhausted.

That makes you the perfect age for it. Not yet old enough to be discounted as a cranky old fart.

Despite Australia's self belief in our own geopolitical clout we're not much more than an unimaginative source of raw materials now. Doesn't mean we shouldn't speak up, we always should, but nobody will listen.

The old guard are longing for a return to a world that doesn't exist anymore. The party's experiments with Abbott, Turnbull, Morrison, Dutton in trying to find something that resonated with both the old guard and the wider electorate show us the two are ideologically incompatible.

Are you after the caffeine or the coffee taste? I tried decaf grounds (one of the fair trade brands) on my GPs recommendation but discovered I drink coffee because I'm self medicating with the caffeine, and until the kids move out I will continue to do so.

Both are identity.

The Holocaust was horrific, the Rwandan Massacre was horrific, the Bosnian war was horrific, the Gazan massacre is horrific. Taking away our ability to criticize those who commit atrocities guarantees more will occur. It is in all of humanity's interest we maintain the right to legitimate criticism
