I worked in IN Medicaid when we tried requirements last time. It was stopped when Biden was elected. We had no way to capture/record the hours of work reported by the member. Many were to be exempted (thank God), like preg, caregivers, kids, elderly- there was no way it would ever be cost effective.

The $880 billion is over ten years. Still a huge cut and will massively change healthcare for the worse

As of last year, the fed govt spent $636 billion on Medicaid. The $880 billion is over 10 years. That's about a 14% cut, if the $880 billion is spread evenly. That would be devastating to patients and health care providers.

Except he's wrong. Funding for school meals comes from USDA not DOE. In Indiana, and I suspect many states, the program is administered through their state's DOE. Eliminating the fed DOE is horrible but wouldn't directly impact school meals.

Indiana has proposed similar. SB 2 would add work requirements and limit coverage to 36 months in a lifetime for the medicaid expansion. Add a cap of 500k members. There are over 650k currently. They could require members to recertify eligibilty multiple times a year. Currently, it's once/yr
