Any women with any athletic ability or has worked out at a gym (even intermittently) has heard this sort of criticism. Armchair athletes always hating on the female athletes. Keep on calling them out and maybe someday it will end.

The ones sticking around and fighting will be the ones who can’t find jobs elsewhere. Who no longer have funding to run a lab, pay their own salaries and health benefits and pay for support staff (of 5-20 people). Leaving isn’t really a choice, it’s a means of survival.
