but to be "beatified" also has another meaning in the context of catholicism, beatification is the first step in becoming a saint and declares that a person is blessed in heaven and may be prayed to.

it's hard to see but there are actually 8 of these things in sunday's splash art, and now we know they're called "The Beatified." this is primarily a reference to the 8 beatitudes declared by Jesus at the Sermon on the Mount, which were blessings unto the qualities championed in jesus' teachings.
