I only install updates to the VPS itself whenever I have to ssh into it (every deployment failure, new project setup, etc)
My apps are containerized. Every commit, GitHub Actions will build & publish the image to ghcr. I then rely on Watchtower / podman-auto-update for "auto"-deployment!
