Today I learned that David Yazbek, the man who wrote one of my favorite newer musicals also wrote… Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego? (And now I have that song stuck in my head. Maybe listening to the Audible release of Dead Outlaw will dislodge it. 😆)

I used to drive past that neighborhood almost every day on my after school pickup routes at my old job. I always thought it was a missed opportunity not to name one the cup de sacs “Bag End”.

I saw the movie Sketch with my family this afternoon. IMHO, it deserves the 98% on Rotten Tomatoes. Wish it had a different distributor, though. I’d hate to think it won’t find the audience that it so rightly deserves just because it got picked up by Angel Studios.

National Endowment for the Arts grant guidelines have been updated. I either picked the wrong time in history to try to go into theater costuming professionally, or the exact right time because art can get wild and subversive when it’s under oppression.

Local donuts and souvenir shopping with a friend from high school that was in town. I bought a half dozen donuts, all different kinds. Tonight between the kids, husband, and roommate we’ll probably cut up the donuts and try all six flavors I bought. 😁

Doing Annie w/ the after school children’s theater program that I work for…and my 11yo wants to be a dog wrangler/trainer when she grows up, so they made her the dog catcher. Molly, our Sandy, was nervous but she did it! (And @windelina.bsky.social the dog survived!)

Every once in a while my husband will buy a pack of a ton of random stickers and pick out the best ones to decorate his laptop with or something. But there are definitely a bunch that, um, don’t quite measure up. 😆

Broadway in Austin’s next season is 🔥🔥🔥. I’m so glad my oldest daughter loves theater as much as I do, and wants to come with me to shows. 😻

I try not to spend a TON of money at the Broadway musical tour merch booths, but when your musical-attending buddy is your preteen daughter and they have a plush, poseable sandworm… 🤷♀️
