I appreciate that the internet has made everyone into an amateur investigative journalist. But actual investigative work requires aggressively checking, double-checking, and trying to poke holes in your own work — not just rushing to publish because you want to believe it's true.

I'm still amazed at how much the entire story feels like it came out of someone's AO3 fic folder. They really just went "hey, what if we did an AR story complete with a flat-out acknowledgment and demand that the impacted characters play along by literally everyone Mario interacts with?"
Plenty of people are taking about Daisy dying at the beginning of Super Mario TennisFever, but not nearly enough are talking about how she’s the only adult left in the world after the rest of the cast are all turned into babies!
