All of my favorite anime are like 6-12 episodes long with no hope for a second season. And I've never once thought "boy I hope they turn this into a 1000-episode monstrosity!"

Seriously. I don't want a piece of media that lasts forever. It wears out its welcome after a while. It's always jarring when a series gets to its conclusion and someone up top goes "This needs a sequel!" and twists the writer's arm to force another story in there.

It's like people demanding a game get a sequel every couple of years.
