I’ve been thinking about the loss of my hokkien skills too since I’ve been working on my mandarin (even though I didn’t have much to begin with)…I’ve been searching up videos on douyin specifically of my parents’ city so I can at least listen to it.

I only look through my feed once or twice a week when I can muster enough energy. This is even after I unfollowed so many accounts, but it’s still a lot to go through the feed, personally. I still like posts, but I don’t feel that it’s urgent that I go through my feed everyday

I used to enjoy Instagram before it became chaotic with posts not being in chronological order, too many suggested hosts, & so many damns ads. The only thing I check regularly is stories because it’s satisfying to click on those circles & the posts feel more real? Like not as deliberately curated
