Hi, Dutchie here, though I feel more international. I love Doctor Who and lots of British TV. Photography also makes me happy at times. Board member of the Dutch Whovian Community, the place for Whovians in the Netherlands!
Thanks for making me laugh out loud!

Definitely the end of an era! Such a crazy decision, but well. Hopefully you have got other things lined up. Just know that at Lunchclub we will always support whatever you do and we'll never forget that you did for us. Sending you strength from me and the WF.

Exactly!

It is blackmail, plain and simple! He knows he is not even half the man Zelensky is and that alone makes him so angry as to want to humiliate him. And his boss Putin obviously also giving him orders as to what to do.

And it's only been a month. The world will be unrecognisable in 6 months time!

This was clear before the election and still people voted the way they did...

Well, after the events of the last couple of days that is hardly surprising, is it? I bet Trump and Putin are already best buddies because they've already divided the loot that is Ukraine and all its assets.

Of course they have... Honestly, this world right now... 😕

I am glad that I have a Ukrainian historic encyclopedia. In Ukrainian (I'm not yet at a level where I can read it, but hopefully one day). This book was published while Ukraine was still independent and wrote its own history. Not everyone can be brainwashed!

Yup, I feel this is much closer to the truth!

I would just like to say that the comments here have just given me a slight hope back in humanity! It is a scary and honestly awful world right now, reading comments on these kinds of posts on Facebook is its own version of hell. The comments here have restored my faith a bit!

It definitely did. Problem is that now she and her family are undoubtedly fair game...

We are very much showing that the world will do nothing against Russia until it's too late. We are already in WWIII, most people just can't or don't want to see it. But it's already going on.

Then muting for you is the way to go. I love scrolling through book covers as it's more interesting than seeing on Instagram what a perfect life everyone seems to live.
November 30, 2024 at 9:05 AM
Well, that's why I ask when I see an interesting/fun intriguing cover! Up till now all but 1 person has responded and we've had a conversation about the book. It's easy to start doing that yourself, don't wait for others.

Can you make a separate Book sky feed for the challenges? That way I can have that feed pinned and go there whenever. I know when I have to start searching for it then I will forget. Once it's there I'll check every day as I love it!
November 30, 2024 at 8:59 AM
I do! But because so many covers are posted you might not see it. I love scrolling through and getting triggered in remembering books, asking about them etc.
November 30, 2024 at 8:57 AM
They do if you want to. If I see a cover that is interesting/fun/intriguing then I ask about it and that leads to a conversation.
November 30, 2024 at 8:54 AM
Maybe you can make that a separate Book sky thread so that the people who do enjoy them can keep enjoying them and those who don't then don't have to see them?

I love the challenge. It's a great way of finding new books. And I also like to know why people liked that book so...I ask them. For me it creates conversation anyway.

And one of the things that you need to question is: what does a certain statistic actually mean? What does 10% more likely actually mean?

So true, all of what you have said.

Everydata... Never heard of it but sounds like an interesting one! What did you get out of it?

We visited the Dylan Thomas boathouse in Laugharne in Wales, but I've never actually read anything he wrote.
