All the rain this weekend really weighed down my rose bushes so I did a little trim… and a bouquet magically appeared 🩷🌷🌸

BEST BIRTHDAY GIFT EVER!! I had this book as a kid and then MY kids left it outside in the rain. It broke my heart and I looked for a replacement for years. Then forgot about it. *Enter best hubby ever*

You are looking at Smaug, the greatest dragon ever. In this illustration, from the book “The Hobbit” by Tolkien, the glorious Smaug is rearing back and blasting fire from his mouth. He is green with a yellow underside. His mouth is open showing his white fangs. He is VERY unhappy. There is probably a hobbit running for his life somewhere. This illustrated book is from 1977, the illustrations are from the animated movie “The Hobbit” from the same year. How many times can one say a variation of “illustration” in one paragraph? Four, apparently.

Fantastic!! I was hoping you’d post more of the bluebirds. Here’s a fluffy American Robin for you. Taken by me from the warm side of the window. The Robin is happy, it just ate a bunch of holly berries.
A fluffy American robin, with it’s orange breast and black top, sits on a snowy window sill at the bottom of the frame. Behind him is a holly bush with bright red berries. He and his friends, of which you can see parts of in the bush, decimated those berries. So. Many. Robins. Maybe 100 in the yard. Only one full one in this picture though, and he’s looking at me like ‘let me in lady, it looks warm in there’. Or maybe he’s just just full.

All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr cover art shows a quaint French town by the sea, the tallest building being a church steeple. Grey clouds fill the sky but moonlight shines through in beams, lighting up the sea. You cannot see the moon, just the light it gives. There are snow patches on the grass in the foreground and on some of the roofs in town. The town is dark and as grey as the clouds.

60th anniversary cover of Ray Bradbury’s “Fahrenheit 451”. The cover is simple yet powerful. Red for the top 3/4ths and black at the bottom, separated with a white line that makes a circle in the middle encasing “451”. It reminds you of a fireman’s helmet. There is a picture at the top that looks like a book at first glance, and it is, in a way. It’s a matchbook.

Strong coffee, usually dark roast, with creamer to make it the same color as my dog, Eleven 😁
Today’s creamer is Thai Iced Coffee.
My hand is holding my favorite coffee mug (a light blue with a ginger wiener dog in a white and blue striped sweater. The handle is the dog’s tail) next to my actual wiener dog, Eleven, whose head is resting on a fluffy blanket, because wiener dogs get chilly. She is kind of side-eyeing the camera because I take too many pictures of her.

Eleven messed up her back, again, so she’s on “take it easy” orders from the vet, as well as three meds. I think she’s already pretty good at taking it easy, but the muscle relaxer should keep her nice and mellow while she heals. #dachshundLife
