Getting ready for the Southampton Children’s Lit Conference by baking cookies to bring. I’m sure this how they wanted me to prepare, right? #southamptonchildrenslitconference #stonybrooksouthampton #kidslit #picturebooks #writing

I love watching my seedlings grow. Some sprout in a day and others take weeks of careful watering, specific temperatures, and lighting schedules. When I can’t see it, I have to have faith that they are growing. All will have an important role in my garden. All are worth the wait. #growing #spring

I was supposed to do some gardening today, but then it snowed…so clearly no gardening happened. Spring can be so cruel. However, I did get to finish reading through my weekly library stack and that was just as fulfilling. #kidlit #spring #picturebooks #librarylove

Remy’s fifth birthday is this week. Last year he chose rainbow LEGO dinosaur as his theme(s). I think this year’s cake will somehow be even more repulsive than the rainbow food dye. Can you spot the “monster poop?”

I’m in love with Megan Pomper’s and Maia Hoekstra’s WHAT MAKES A BIRD. It’s all of the questions your kid will ask and all of the questions that flit and fly through your mind about what makes a bird a bird…or anything, anything. The metaphor is everything. @mpomper.bsky.social

Read some really fun stories this week, but now it’s time to send them back and pick some more. Support your local library! 📚 #bookhaul #librarystack #kidlit #librarylove

Taking a day off from writing to prepare for tomorrow’s march. There might be a theme involved. #internationalwomensday #womensmarch

My little one saw me putting post-its in books while I was doing research for one of my stories. He gave this to me this morning as a present. I guess he wanted to help. #writing #kidlit

I miss my veggie garden! What are the odds the 64 people ahead of me on the community garden waitlist decide 2025 is not their year to grow a garden?

Beyond searching for agents, scouring MSWL, writing query letters, and creating spreadsheets…I’ve been doing some research for a project. #writing

These have an important message for everyone, especially now. We have the power to make a difference! No matter the obstacles, there is always a reason and a way to stand up for what is just. #library #librarybooks #bookhaul #reading #kidlit @tylergordon.bsky.social @andreabeatyauthor.bsky.social
