My mom was a chemistry professor and each year would invite all the international students to our house for Thanksgiving dinner. I wrote about that (and what it taught me) here:

btw, they are both huge fans of MLP & Bea Wolf. My kid did a school presentation on Old English because of your book. Delivered in Swedish bc we live in Sweden.
