I love reading on my now quite old Kindle. #devonbookhour It is a different reading experience but, for me, it certainly doesn't detract from the joy of reading - and the quality of the print is far better than many a paperback!

Does the Muppets version of A Christmas Carol count as a classic? I think it should!😂

I read a number of Thomas Hardy novels and most Jane Austen novels plus George Elliot's Middlemarch as a teenager. #devonbookhour

A political fable, the theme considers what happens when you suddenly become an unwanted foreigner in an increasingly hostile environment. #devonbookhour

#devonbookhour I can definitely recommend my current read, which is The Accidental Immigrants by Jo McMillan - it is a very compelling and prescient novel.

#devonbookhour I wouldn't say that a book has ever been life-changing but I certainly felt that books which I read in my late teens for both O and A levels were really mind broadening.

#DevonBookHour I tend to be drawn by reviews, subject matter, new work by an author I have previously read and enjoyed, genre.

#DevonBookHour it is a political fable about a British couple living on a fictional island in the Med,whose lives are torn apart by the election of a far right govt. It's a finalist for the Orwell Prize for Political Fiction.

Current read is Tell Me Everything by Elizabeth Strout. I've become a fan of her Maine set novels in this past couple of years.
