Things are much easier for me now. I lost my husband when he was 40, so almost 25 years ago.
But it was end of November, with 3 kids between 6 and 11…
We got through it.
And I always made an extra special effort for them at that time of the year.

I apologize if this sounds brutal, but having been through it, thé first Christmas (first anything alone) is bloody awful.

But we have no choice, and if nothing else works, grin and bear it or cry.

Second time is a gift. We see how far we’ve come and start building new memories
