Android Desktop mode in 2024 is very much a usable replacement to a laptop for daily computing. All I need is a web-browser, Notion, Google Maps and Slack. All work very well on an 8GB RAM Snapdragon smartphone, running on desktop mode with my usual keyboard, mouse and display.
