The justice pincites to page 36 for the quote (page 34 in the original) and reading the version of Harper you linked the quote is on page 29. Maybe they're trying to cite Kavanaugh? Idk either I am missing something or it still gives big "did not read the opinion or write this myself" vibes

Oh we are going to get some bangers. The FBI is the KGB of America. The FBI is the SS of America. The FBI is the Praetorian Guard of America. The FBI is the Dai Li of America. The FBI is the "Gazpacho" of America.

Everything else aside "I support trans rights to the extent it does not harm my party politically" is just objectively not supporting trans rights as much as anyone as there are millions of people willing to support those rights regardless of electoral implications.

Maybe the funniest thing is that this may not even be true? I feel like now more than ever kids are willing to embrace nerdiness, like learning, enjoy the social opportunities of school etc. I don't have any data on this but neither do they lol just purely observational.

I would love to see actual data on this because in my personal experience it feels like the amount of people who enjoy going to school has increased significantly. Yeah there's been greater institutional and elite rejection of education, but I think younger people generally embrace it more now.

That is disgusting. It really does seem like it's all a game to some people. Thank you for Run For Something, it is one of the things that make me the most optimistic about our future!

The inescapable logical conclusion of Tom's arguments would lead one to conclude that extending the right to vote beyond land-owning white men was also a mistake. I eagerly await to see if he will make such an argument.

Your inability or unwillingness to grapple with these points as well as getting basic historical facts wrong is a shame. But what is a bigger shame is your arrogance in calling another's argument dumb while proceeding to show your whole ass in an ignorant ahistorical thread.

is inarguably a chipping away of the electoral system our founders designed. Do you oppose women and minorities having the right to vote? If not why is the shibboleth of "its what the founders wanted" not enough to deny democratic will in those cases but it is enough to deny a national popular vote.

our presidential election system, which again our founders did not design, as you erroneously state. Finally, it ignores historical trends mainly that when the Constitution was enshrined only landed white men could vote, as you may know that is not the case now. Each new enfranchisement of citizens,

would be the people. Now you can still think that is "dumb" but at least argue it directly and don't hide. Moreover your argument elides the fact the Senate exists and that there are zones of governmental authority largely left to the states, which are two pillars of federalism much moreso than

federal government they wrought. It is also misleading because you repeatedly refer to it as "big cities" controlling elections as, at least implicitly, in contrast to states currently doing. The difference here is, states literally control the outcome currently whereas under a popular vote it
