One glass leads to another, and not long after, KDJ is already in his last bottle. How much did he drink? No, more than that, what was he doing earlier again?

Right, he was watching—no, listening, to a streamer.

He brings his laptop to the countertop and starts browsing his social media accounts while leisurely sipping on the soju like it'a his afternoon tea.

It’s been a while since he indulged in a drink, and he’s quite surprised by how smoothly the alcohol is going down his throat.

And so KDJ stomps to the kitchen, takes out the bottles of soju that his publisher, HSY, left in his fridge months, ago saying he might need it someday (turns out she was damn right), makes himself comfortable in the mini bar area that he had never used before, and starts drinking.

As pathetic as KDJ sounds, he can’t help but envy his characters and their sappy, romance-filled lives (which he created, by the way).

Since he’s feeling particularly lonely on a random Tuesday night, what better way to drown in his sorrows than drink the night away?

He envies his characters, who are all living happily with their significant others, while their creator is single as fuck.

“Damn, I should’ve written an angsty story where they don’t get together in the end. Like, one of them dies or something. Why did I give them all happy endings?”

So, what does he do these days?

Nothing. Since he has no plans for a new book yet and his publisher isn't pushing him to write one (for now), KDJ just spends most of his days in his huge ass apartment, reflecting on his life.

And all that reflecting made him realize that he’s lonely.

and no longer had to scream at his blank doc to write the story itself.

Now he’s just chilling, receiving royalties for his previous books which are still on the bestseller shelves even years after their release, two of which are getting film adaptations with the production currently underway.

But he had now reached the peak of his career and achieved all that he’d wanted to achieve. He no longer had to do all-nighters just to finish his manuscripts, no longer had to stare into the void just to come up with ways to get his characters from point A to B,

KDJ used to not get bothered by the fact that he literally has 0 experience in romance, despite being a successful romance novelist.

He prioritized his career above anything else, and he preferred to use his time and energy getting his characters together rather than get together with someone.
