So you don't focus on class at the "expense" of race. You focus on class and you disproportionately affect race.

They are not overwhelmingly minority, they are disproportionately minority. There are a lot of poor white people because they are the majority of the population. By percentage of population, there are more minorities; that is what disproportionate means.

Well, minorities are disproportionately poor, yes? So if we help poor people, we disproportionately help minorities. And you do it without unpopular identity politics. That is what I mean by baked-in.

You will not hear people like Bernie Sanders discuss race much. It tends to be polarizing and unequal by design. But, if you address socio-economic inequalities, you get race baked in.

You can change branding without changing values.

I'm not against any of these things, but I do think there is room for nuance here. Here in Los Angeles, petty crime has increased as we have stopped policing it. Not only do people not like this, it doesn't seem to be working. I understand the intent, but let's learn from our mistakes.
