"If you're employed right now, you're probably feeling some level of anxiety about how long that's going to last. If you're unemployed or underemployed, you're probably some combination of anger and despair about how hard it is to find stable work."

Also, Bruce Springsteen lyrics show up surprisingly often in "How to write" articles. I read one article that pointed out how the opening of Thunder Road is written very much like the descriptions in a screenplay.

Hm. Can you share a bit of audio?

Going through the basic troubleshooting...

-Have you tried recording with a different program? Different microphone?
-Have you recorded some audio and played it back? Verified that it's a not just a monitoring issue?
-Restarted the computer?

"Something's up with Jack" song is literally about Jack trying to figure out what he wants--the antithesis of Drama.

It's an example of a movie that's carried by the visuals and music, and not the story/characters. Like a Jackie Chan flick, but for goths.

Honestly, that whole script is kinda of a wreck. It hits all the beats of a classical musical, and it hits them so directly they get kinda of stupid. 90s Disney has the good sense to combine the "Our Little Town" and "I wish" songs. Not Nightmare.

Agreed! Although I'd quibble that she has agency--she slips away from her dad, takes risks to save Jack--but the only thing she wants in life is to help Jack, who has no interest in her at all.
