I didn't know that about the crime survey. But something is not stacking up with people's lived experience. Not sure about crimes against the person, but theft is everywhere, shoplifting, thefts from vehicles and homes just seems that everyone says yeah it's happened to me but not worth reporting🤔

If car crime has fallen, which I'm yet to be convinced, it's down to them being harder to steal. As for the rest, don't believe it. If there's no coppers to report a break in too, why bother.
We need the thin blue line widened, no more so called efficiency, just more bods in uniform.

2nd. The money being spent on HS2, broadly speaking is being spent into the British economy.
3rd HS2, along with Hinckley point C, are helping to train the civil engineers of the future. We're going to need those engineers to help adapt the country for climate change.

I disagree on 3 counts.
1st, it'll increase capacity, not of intercity services, but it'll free space on current mainlines for slower trains, such as local passenger services and long distances rail freight. This is because of the higher the speed the greater the gap required between trains.

My response to the madness elsewhere 🤔

At what point does Starmer stop being frightened of an unrepresentative legacy media, and take bold decisions on single market, customs union and freedom of movement.

It's not the circulation that matters, it's the broadcast media still dancing to the tune of what the papers say, stop that, end the gaslighting

Thanks Steff.
I respect the decisions of conscience that you and all the MPs voting today will be taking.
I am pleased though that you are voting for the Bill. This is long overdue.

My wife car only does about 2500 miles a year, and her journey pattern is really EV friendly and we have a drive, suitable for home charging. But we'd not buy a 2nd hand EV, and can't justify the cost of brand-new. Until the tech is further proven, we'll stick to ICE. I don't think we're alone.

If Thames goes into administration, and the government takes on its operating responsibilities, they must not take on its debts. The debts belong to the company that's collapsed, and those creditors foolish enough to lend to it.
No more privatising profit nationalising losses.
