Conclave (2024) Dir. Edward Berger.
Great film with fantastic cinematography and fine performances from all concerned. Who would've thought a film about a papal election would be so gripping?

Brilliant gig!

Yesterday's viewing.
The Alto Knights. (2025. Dir. Barry Levinson)
Not earth shattering but not as bad as people have been saying.
A thoughtful tale about how the American Mafia and it's influence was irrevocably changed by the events depicted.
De Niro, as both lead characters is excellent.

Last night's viewing:
Navajo Joe. (1966. Dir. Sergio Corbucci)
Starring Burt Reynolds.
Not a classic of the genre but not as awful as Reynolds himself once said.
There are some great, unusual camera angles and Morricone's score is excellent!
Fairly brutal and unrelenting. Loved it!

Parkland (2013 Dir. Peter Lendesman)
An account of the hours after the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy at the nearby Parkland Hospital where people unwittingly become part of history.
A solid little film that by and large does the job it sets out to do.

Excellent documentary on the formation and early days of Led Zeppelin.
Jimmy Page's continuing enthusiasm for the band he created absolutely shines through.
See it on a big screen with a good sound system. Their raw power comes over so well

Absolutely loved it!
Chalamet is excellent as Dylan. Great support too.
The musical performances were so good we almost found ourselves applauding in the concert scenes!
The Newport Festival 1964 scene of Dylan singing The Times They Are A Changing is pretty emotional!
All in all, a superb film.

Last night's viewing:
The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean. (1972, directed by John Huston)
Possibly one of Paul Newman's best roles, as the self appointed, "Law west of the Pecos."
Fine dialogue. Gallows humour, (literally!), and beautifully choreographed action sequences.
