Long time fan of Shaman King and the rest of Hiroyuki Takei's works. Doing a bunch of archival work located at https://manga.properties .
In order to juice the sales of the print edition of the magazine, there is also some promotional Pokémon cards being bundled with it.

A digital edition of the magazine will also be available (with no cards, and likely a lower price).

A brand new manga magazine launches next month in Japan! Corociao! Taking the best of Corocoro and Ciao magazines, and making this hefty new magazine.

Issue 1 launches on December 19, 2025 for 1280yen. It's an "irregular" released magazine, so no word on when issue 2 will release.

"Ne Zha 2" will be streaming on Rakuten Viki soon. That's kinda a crazy big pull for them!

Ne Zha 2 is currently the highest-grossing animated film of all time. And only came out earlier this year.

Since it was a topic in the Shonen Flop discord, I might as well post it here as well.

(The slot for "F" was more of a catch-all for any of Noboru Rokuda's works. The start of "F" is problematic, but has a creator he worked past that)

Every image I see of "Gonron Egg", all I can imagine is this being a lost cancelled Jump manga from 2007.

(Official English release on Viz/MangaPlus)

Great interview! Always appreciate the look back at previous works from the creator's point of view to see how its changed over time.

With my affinity with documenting Manga Allman... It's always fun to see a F.COMPO mention.

I'm happy to see that JME is finally adding some more English subtitled shows... But that disappointment is slashed with their latest use of AI for translation.

Especially if their new line-up is strong character dramas. AI isn't a replacement for that human touch.

It was surprising to find that Yudetamago's "Yūrei Kozō ga Yattekita!" manga was so heavily influenced by Shigeru Mizuki. Maybe the most Shigeru Mizuki-styled manga in all of Weekly Shonen Jump?

Looks like the app is out early. My quick initial findings for those interested (reposting from Discord):

I do want to shout out Neon Ichiban's implementation of manga publisher sales. Clean layout, unique URL, filter and search only on sale titles (!), and all titles in order (by series and volume).

Kodansha frequently has sales, and this is the best way to view them that I've seen! Great job!

I came across this issue cover online yesterday which was very interesting. The cover of this Big Comic issue from 1971 features the cover of an English "international edition" of Big Comic for what appears to be the same issue.

Was this ever published? I can't find anything about it.

Sometimes an author looks exactly how you'd expect based on the manga they created. Akira Miyashita is definitely one of those guys!

Also an additional shout out to Cat Anderson for the great use of language in the volume. These characters speak very differently, and the correct use of slang/terminology for each back into English really shines through.

I hope whomever is translating the anime takes note of these subtleties too.

Finished reading "The Darwin Incident" volume 8 by @kodansha.us and author Shun Umezawa. Every volume just builds off the previous in such interesting ways. It's really, really good, and I can't promote it enough.

Shout out to the entire English production staff for another great volume!

What a time for "The Darwin Incident" volume 8 to come out in English digitally from @kodansha.us.

And this is only just the first page of the volume. If you haven't started reading this manga, now's the time!

Next week for The Darwin Incident volume 8 in English!

(We're due for getting a new trailer for the anime sometime in the next month as well. So now's the time to read the manga, which is on sale digitally!)

TIL that in "Pyuu to Fuku! Jaguar" there were fan submitted illustrations of the series title for the chapters of the manga.

At least one of them later became a mangaka for Corocoro Comics. @letmebebee.bsky.social, do you know if there is a list of anyone famous?

(Sample image of that title)

Hard to say if their servers are just freaking out under the site load or they messed up on the file uploads...

But when looking at the collected series, the cover art completely wrong.

And every series is "2025-present." No backdating for catalog titles is very weird and misleading.

That very first volume of "Young, Alive, In Love" still sits on my bookshelf next to my desk to this day. It's right there, I see it every day, and I'm looking at it right now.
It may not be the most popular series, but for me, that's the defining "Star Fruit Books" & Matt Haasch produced manga.

Since the chapter is now free to read on Azuki...

This sound effect from Zigoku's Foreman chapter 4 really made me laugh when I read it for the first time. It had such a good setup, and the play on words in English when you know the context is fantastic.

Whenever there is a magazine rack or some characters are looking at a manga... I always go into investigation mode to see if I can find something.

Was kinda expecting some cross-series references here in the Rookies: Graduation movie, but I guess not this time!

I didn't include in my limit of 3, but I would also think "Otoko No Joken" should be in there for it's huge influence in making Jump a success.

While it came out in 1968, this was the original "Bakuman" story that inspired so many kids to become legendary mangaka in the 80s.

If I can't have "Sket Dance", then let's get "Gakuen Johobu H.I.P." by Jun Tomizawa!

Covers the "school life" genre and solving daily life problems. Very much in the 80s art style (and might have a problematic chapter, haven't dug in that much). It's short, but I think it might hold up till today!
