Gallery Road is currently shut due to emergency Thames Water works. A repair crew are working on site, but the road will remain shut for the current time. Thanks to the London Fire Brigade for their help earlier today.

Really delighted that the new pedestrian crossings at the junction of Lordship Lane and Dulwich Common are now fully operational. Thank you to every local resident who supported our successful campaign!

The Thames Water repairs to the two burst water mains on the South Circular near Alleyn Park are now complete. Dulwich Common is open as normal, but the new tarmac on Thurlow Park Road still needs to ‘cure’ before the road there can be re-opened in the next couple of days.

The South Circular is currently closed between Alleyn Park and Croxted Road due to emergency Thames Water works. Diversions are in place. We are currently in daily contact with Thames Water chasing up on local repair works.

Although the tree blocking the Cox’s Walk footbridge has now been cleared, there has been damage to the footbridge. The council has commissioned a detailed assessment by specialists before deciding upon next steps.

The Cox’s Walk footbridge has been temporarily closed due to a fallen tree. When I visited this morning a team were on site working on the fallen tree. I hope that the footbridge will be able to re-open shortly.

On Thursday our community came together for the funeral of former councillor Michelle Pearce who represented Village and Ruskin wards from 1994-2006.

It was a privilege to hear again the story of her life and achievements from her family and close friends during such a moving service.

Thanks to the @history.dulwichsociety.com team for their hard work culminating in the unveiling of the new Dulwich Volunteer Battalion information sign at the Lordship Lane war memorial this morning.

The South Area multi-ward meeting takes place tonight at Kingswood Arts on Seeley Drive. Items on community safety, the council’s budget and project pitches for ward funding pots.

The next South Area multi-ward meeting will take place on Monday 13th January at Kingswood Arts.

Lordship Lane is currently shut between Friern Road and Barry Road due to a road traffic accident. Buses are being diverted or cut short. I very much hope that no one was badly hurt in the accident. Thanks to the emergency services currently on the scene.
