Jim McDivitt: "Docking difficult. Neck ring sticks into your throat. Helmet scratched and gouged."
Love finding these extra pieces of information to add context to the historic images. Even the cover!
Found at a recent auction of the flown Apollo 9 LM rendezvous checklist, annotated by McDivitt.

HAPPY 90th BIRTHDAY to Apollo 16 Moonwalker Charlie Duke! 🚀
90 orbits of the Sun and a stroll on the Moon.
One of only four men left with us who have walked on another world.

On what would have been John Young's 95th birthday!
Flew two Gemini missions, flew to the Moon twice - walking on its surface as Commander of Apollo 16, then went on to Command the first Shuttle mission!
Legend!

Delighted to finally reveal the new SPACE gallery at London's @sciencemuseum.org.uk!
It was a pleasure to help - providing what may well be the largest photo of the🌖on🌎!
The gallery is stunning, and it's so special to see the Apollo 10 Command Module alongside Soyuz.

Remembering Tom Stafford on what would have been his 95th birthday.
Through the window of his Gemini spacecraft (L) and Apollo LM (R) in the 1960's, he witnessed Earth and the Moon from a cosmic perspective.

It's the 60th ANNIVERSARY of Gemini V (Aug 21-29, 1965)!
And T- 6 days to the launch of #GeminiAndMercuryRemastered book 🚀
"8 days or bust" - Cooper (back) and Conrad (reflected in his visor) as they approach LC-19, broke the space longevity record.
And they took some utterly stunning shots of home:

T-minus 9 days to the launch of #GeminiAndMercuryRemastered 🚀
L: Gemini X. There's just something about early human spaceflight photography, captured on film. Clearly referenced in modern sci-fi blockbusters.
R: Gemini 3 crew. Let's be frank, Gemini was badassery of the absolute highest order!

T-minus 10 Days...
...to the launch of #GeminiAndMercuryRemastered!
Here's the contents - a similar arrangement to #ApolloRemastered. Starting with Mercury MR-3 and covering every mission through to Gemini XII. Extra chapters cover the cameras / eqpmnt, their development and use, and the processing:

As of this week, there is nobody left on Earth who witnessed this moment live.

I was deeply honoured when Jim provided a quote for the new book - it's not appropriate to share here. He features heavily, including the very last image. I'll share this though - a stunning shot of Earth and the Moon, taken by Jim during Gemini VII - it adorns the rear jacket.
August 9, 2025 at 10:08 AM
Apollo 13 needs few words. Perhaps the greatest story of triumph over adversity ever told. Jim was Commander. Seen here, freezing and exhausted on the way home. We've lost a true legend.
Rest in peace, Captain Lovell. Ad astra, safe travels, "See you on the other side."
August 9, 2025 at 10:08 AM
Jim then became one of the first three humans to leave Earth entirely, and fly to the Moon, on Apollo 8. Sadly, the whole crew has now left us. Here he is, on board the Command Module, in December 1968. 5/6
August 9, 2025 at 10:08 AM
I was saving this for the new book, but seems appropriate here. Jim went on to fly to the Moon twice, but never walked on its surface. The Gemini XII EVAs were the only time he was exposed to the vacuum of space, and, recovered from underexposed film, this the only photograph 4/6
August 9, 2025 at 10:08 AM
Jim then flew as Command Pilot of Gemini XII with
Buzz Aldrin. He's seen here, cool as you like, gazing out of the window into the heavens on Nov 12, 1966. After this mission, Jim was the most traveled man 'on' Earth, until 1973. 3/6
