When Kat wins, Trump is going sick ICE on Illinois HARD.

When I first read that, I thought... "The Holy See"?
"As protestants, we do not talk about the Holy See".
January 26, 2026 at 4:13 PM
"I wish I lived in the _______ era" really means "I wish I was rich in the ______ era".

It's a huge market, trying to convince ourselves that we're not as shallow and basic as we really are.
January 26, 2026 at 4:08 PM
The funny thing is, $10 million isn't even that rich.

Elon Musk walks into a packed football stadium, and immediately the average attendee's net worth becomes higher than the Clintons.

Reminds me of when (not too long ago, or is it still ongoing?), due to our military actions to combat terrorists, we literally gave middle-eastern children a phobia of clear blue skies (since that's when drones attack).

Words like "terrorist", after decades of misuse, have lost their meaning.

Trump doesn't care about anyone but himself; not the Republican party, not his wife or children, not Jesus, not America... There's not a soul he respects, and not a soul he wouldn't turn on the moment it suits his interests.
January 25, 2026 at 6:12 AM
It's still a means to an end. A university's students speak out against Trump, and Trump can turn around an say, "I'm pulling your university funding for your antisemitism, unless you expel them".

He seems racially agnostic. You're either a threat, an opportunity, rich, sexy, or irrelevant.
January 25, 2026 at 6:07 AM
The suffering is absolutely horrific and immense. But I doubt Trump is rolling over giddy in his bed, thinking of the poor, crying Mexican children. Frankly, I doubt he's ever thought of them at all.

It does feel angry and vengeful against the democrats though.
January 25, 2026 at 4:17 AM
Agreed. I get Zach's point that these arrests and deportations are inhumane and cruel, and certain Americans seem to revel in that cruelty.

But it's like when Amazon has mass layoffs despite record profits. Or how Sam Altman's AI Data Centers have decimated and impoverished communities...
January 25, 2026 at 4:08 AM
Does Trump really believe in anything? Are there any consistent ethics? He seems blatantly amoral to me.
January 24, 2026 at 11:23 PM
I mean, Trump pardoned Juan Orlando Hernández (former Honduras president convicted of drug trafficking to the US) because "Biden set him up". Then looked what happened in Venezuela; he captured the president for drug charges, stole oil, and became best friends with the opposition leader.
January 24, 2026 at 11:18 PM
The Nazis hated Jews, to be sure. And certain Americans absolutely hate Hispanics. But Trump?

There are very few things consistent with his behavior and morals; He'll blame the shylocks one minute, and crack down on Harvard for being antisemitic the next.
January 24, 2026 at 11:13 PM
The intended effects are:
- Demonization of the opposing party
- Minority groups too scared to protest, lobby the government for redress, or stand out.
- Redirecting the attention away from all the other shit Trump is pulling.
- Excuse to further suspect due-process and the rule-of-law.
January 24, 2026 at 9:02 PM
There is very much a reason for this, and hurting families and the economy is just a casualty in pursuit of what Trump & friends view as the "Greater Good"; i.e. acquisition of power.
January 24, 2026 at 8:59 PM
Even Trump or Musk can be pro-semitic when it suits them. Racism in the "lower classes" is an issue, don't get me wrong. But this whole thing is just a cold means-to-an-end for those in charge.
January 24, 2026 at 8:53 PM
The ICE crackdown is simply a diversionary tactic, to blame our country's problems on an imagined enemy. The real problem is, our president is a pedophile, who openly accepts bribes from corrupt corporations and countries, stacks the courts, and subverts the rule-of-law.
January 23, 2026 at 8:34 PM
So ultimately, I'm more of a Machiavellian "political-darwinist". "Goodness" and "truth" doesn't matter if its not effective (though I wish it was). If you want something changed, do what you must to be more "effective" than the opposition. If you don't like something, ensure its less-effective.
January 23, 2026 at 8:30 PM
I find, the more optimistic I get, the more anarchist I get. People should be able to cooperate and self-govern.

But governments are effective at furthering our goals, including keeping us safe from worse governments (including companies, families, other countries, etc).
January 23, 2026 at 8:18 PM
The only appropriate response, is something ChatGPT will never echo:

Goddamn fucking hell.
January 23, 2026 at 4:05 PM
Call me anti-feminist, but I do not believe sterile males deserve to be cannibalized.
January 22, 2026 at 7:49 PM
Do you realize your criminal warmongering president is colluding with other criminal warmongering presidents, under the thinnest veil of peace?

Yes, we are all aware.
January 21, 2026 at 7:51 PM
I am not a democrat (or Republican), but I'll vote for anyone who will take down Donald Trump and ensure that the shenanigans he pulled (issuing tariffs and declaring war without congress, ignoring court orders, turning the military against citizen, openly accepting bribes, etc) NEVER happen again.
