Shame we didn’t even compete in the final test, leaves a slightly sour test of an otherwise excellent series. Atkinson and Carse have been tremendous, Woakes and Potts both played their parts but Bethell the stand out find - looks more comfortable at no.3 than Pope does

Interesting to read about the toll and sacrifice that reaching the very pinnacle can take out of an individual. Ben Cohen told a very similar story the other day.

Final throw of the dice for a competition doomed from the start. English domestic cricket needs to manage its calendar around 3 competitions - The County Championship, a 50-over competition and a revamped marquee t20 tournament which should receive all funding from the hundred.
