This morning's heavy rain at #uptonwarren brought out a Jack Snipe at the Flashes, feeding with at least 12 Common Snipe. 5 Curlew, 156 Lapwing, 1 Shelduck, 1 Gadwall, 3 Shoveler, 98 Teal, Stonechat pr, Peregrine through & a GWE at the Sailing Pool were also noteworthy observations #WorcsBirds

Plenty of water now at #uptonwarren Flashes (view from Cuckoo hide below) but still not many birds: 92 Lapwing, 26 Teal, 10 Shoveler, Stonechat pr the best. A very late Sandwich Tern was reported flying south over at 1115, by which time I was ar the Moors Pool! #WorcsBirds

A 2nd Rock Pipit in 2 days fed alone on the east shore at #uptonwarren this morning.

A Common Gull, 5 Curlew, 12 Redpoll, 2 Stonechat, 2 Swallow, Peregrine and a Redwing perched atop a bush were also noted.

A GWE was briefly at the Sailing Pool. #Worcsbirds

A Pink-footed Goose found by @phil9.bsky.social on the Sailing Pool at #uptonwarren late morning was a year tick for the reserve. A Great White Egret, 4 Little Egret, Dunlin, 5 Snipe, 71 Lapwing, 5 Wigeon, male Stonechat & Reed Warbler were at the Moors Pool earlier. #WorcsBirds

11 Wigeon at #uptonwarren Moors Pool this morning (9 seen flying in to join the 2 already there), Snipe, 67 Lapwing, Otter. 5 Curlew dropped in at midday at a still very quiet and barren Flashes. Good numbers of Swallows flying south still. #WorcsBirds

This Wood Sand was at #uptonwarren Moors Pool briefly this morning (not seen since 0830). The Garganey was still about but the Little Stint, which had been on site for 7 days, appears to have flown. Also 2 Snipe, Common Sand, 5 Curlew, 45 Lapwing, 3 Mipit, 2 Otter. #WorcsBirds

3 species of Egret at #uptonwarren Moors Pool this morning. A Cattle Egret briefly early morning found by @birdergladys.bsky.social, 5 Little Egret & a GWE, which dropped in at noon. Also juv LRP, 4 Snipe, 3 Green Sands, 2 Common Sands, juv Yellow Wagtail, Hobby. #WorcsBirds

At #uptonwarren Moors Pool early am(from Jacobs hide): a Black-tailed Godwit dropped into the wading area created by lack of rain in the south east corner. 3 Snipe, 3 Green Sands, Dunlin, Common Sand & 50 Lapwings were also feeding in this area. A female Wigeon was on the west side. #WorcsBirds

Very little water left at #uptonwarren Flashes now (see pic of 1st Flash) so I concentrated mainly on scanning the hedge to the left of the Avocet hide. This was rewarded with my first Willow Warbler of the autumn (a lemon juv), fem/juv Redstart & a L Whitethroat. #WorcsBirds 1/2

2 Hobbies hunting dragonflies were the pick at #uptonwarren Moors Pool this morning. A Dunlin, 4 Green Sands, 2 Common Sands, 12 Lapwing, 4 Little Egret, Lesser Whitethroat, 8 Swallows and an escaped Terrapin were the best of the rest. #WorcsBirds

One of two Hobbies perched in a tree at the north end of the Moors Pool at #uptonwarren this morning. 3 Green Sands, 2 Common Sands, 4 Common Terns, a brood of 5 Gadwall still, at least 25 Tufted Duck chicks and a new single Mute Swan chick also noted. #WorcsBirds

A bit of movement at #uptonwarren this morning with a Kittiwake at the Flashes for about 10 minutes before flying west. Next a 2nd summer Med Gull dropped in. Meanwhile, at the Moors Pool, 29 Black-tailed Godwits were present late morning. 2 Redstarts were also seen at the Flashes #WorcsBirds

Juv Redstart & Red Kite were the highlights at a fast drying out #uptonwarren Flashes this morning. Just 13 Avocet were seen, 3 Green Sands, 3 Common Sands & 9 LRP. A Hobby, 5 Little Egret, 3 Green Sands, Common Sand & 2 Common Tern were at the Moors Pool plus a brood of 4 Tufted Duck. #WorcsBirds

2 Redshank were new in at #uptonwarren Flashes this morning, along with the returning Green Sandpiper; 44 Avocet, 8 LRP, 3 Oyks, 12 Lapwing, 12 Shelduck, 2 Common Tern, 2 Red Kite. Great also to see a family of Lesser Whitethroat (at least 2 juvs). #WorcsBirds

This Sanderling dropped in at #uptonwarren Flashes at 10am - the first seen on the reserve since 8th May 2022 & my first since May 2019!A Redshank also dropped in shortly afterwards. 43 Avocet, at least 8 LRP, Oyk, 7 Lapwing, 12 Shelduck also on site. #WorcsBirds
