I certainly wouldn’t expect the Liberals to flip Alberta, it’s places like you mention more at issue for them.

Social media is so toxic, Bluesky is just a different poison.

It’s one of my favourite genres of posts.

Except it’s not what the piece says at all and that quote doesn’t appear anywhere. wapo.st/4ii2lTV

It would kind of ruin the thesis.

None of these platforms encourage bringing people together despite differences. It’s about ‘owning’ your ‘enemy,’ which in many cases is just the guy or gal next door.

Quite the theatre!

They only have to worry about Quebec seats and their budget rejection motion called on more spending for Quebec.

They could afford an election, the other two couldn’t IMO.

To be honest, I think none of them wanted an election, and the NDP and Conservatives didn’t trust each other to do it right.

Scheer changed his vote only after it was clear the budget would pass.

Even the Conservatives knew there would be a political price.

I should note the Liberal MP is the Speaker, who only votes in a tie.

The two abstentions on each side put this over but also wouldn’t have defeated the government on their own.

If you do not support the Liberals, you can choose who you blame!

NDP statement says they don’t support the budget but that it became clear during discussions that Canadians don’t want an election.

Fair. Given the time and their unchecked power, I guess they were kind of Scorsese characters.

But I don’t get a sense this is some kind of romanticized place the writer wants us to return to. They’re noting the progress.

You can always not mention me or my account if you don’t want responses?

You’re using a headline to confirm your opinions without actually reading the piece. It’s a problem with social media.
November 16, 2025 at 7:43 PM
I suggest reading the piece at minimum before turning on the outrage machine.
