The Burren? That scuzzy dive bar where the the only food is bags of chips clipped to a black metal rack? WTF? (And I thought they closed last year. Is this story from a parallel universe?)

I was recalling fond Christmas memories from my childhood. And then it struck me, that with both parents gone and my sister four years younger, I'm the only one in the world who knows about them.

I should probably share these stories with the generation below me.

My bus driver got off route and needed to be redirected by a passenger. There's going to be some cold people in that omitted half mile waiting for a bus which only comes every 20 minutes.

How petty can he be??
Trump is just the worst! The National Park Service is reshuffling its free-admission schedule so that visitors get in free on Donald Trump’s birthday next year, while Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Juneteenth (previously free days) will now require regular entrance fees.
National Parks are now free on Trump's birthday, but not on MLK Jr. Day or Juneteenth
The Trump administration overhauled the list of free National Park days for 2026.

This weekend, I have 14 IEP special ed progress reports to file, about 40 tests to grade, and 54 1st term report cards to complete. I plan to spend today, and probably much of tomorrow, looking at papers and on my laptop, with a drink in my hand.

Better than banging the sofa, I suppose...
Somehow this is the worst part.

Yet again I'd like to thank the publishing industry, Hollywood, and Yale Law School for ensuring this bigot's rise to prominence.

It's easy to spot the slacker US kids who copy their answers from the diligent Vietnamese kid. He writes his "1" digit looking like a US "7". All his copiers dutifully write the digit as a "7" and get the answer wrong.
There are a LOT of "1" digits in 8th grade math.

This is good news. Let's see if the Trump-appointed bobbleheads on the "Supreme Court" overrule it.

Curious how seven million "No Kings" supporters can protest peacefully, while the violence comes from the pro-Trump side.

Reuters photographer Jonathan Ernst noticed that Bondi flipped open a file during the Senate hearing and he zoomed in.

Inside were her crib notes for attacking the senators.

In other words, under oath Bondi was purely a performance.
