Strange times. We used to build alliances based on shared values. Now we just pander to the vanity of the dictator.

Wow, not only the first ever recipient of the FIFA Peace Medal, now the owner of an EBAY Nobel Peace Prize. The man is a machine.

The batman boat was useless in the bath unless you made a keel out of blue tac.

A friend had this. You set it up, started it off....and just watched it over and over again. It was mesmerising at the time!

And your message forms a part of the national record and will be retained for something like 99 years. Future generations will be able to search the archive and smirk at some of these messages.

Never really had the money to play arcade games as a child, but occasionally played Gauntlet. Addictive but was designed around getting as much money out of your pocket and into the machine.

I am very surprised at the numbers. It's a Daily Express poll, yet the "Don't know" option is stuck at 0%. Normally there is at least 5% of Daily Express readers who consider the question, consider the binary yes/no option and then respond with 'Don't know'.

I think you are mixing up "forces" and "army". Our army was never our priority, however we do have 4 subs with nuclear armaments, and two carriers with a surface fleet that can project power. (I accept that we are waiting for a full flight of F35s, the carriers have had "issues" etc).

Having worked in Local Govt for many years, I suspect that this will evolve as follows. 1. Initially a great idea. 2. Consultants get involved. 3. This is not what I imagined. 4. This is a mess. 5. Consultants walk away. 6. Communities are worse off.

I am wondering whether there is a middle ground where support services such as HR, Payroll, IT could be centralised, but the public facing / public impacting functions remain local.

I will be very surprised if this does not translate into posts being made redundant. In fact something has gone very wrong if this doesn't happen.

I feel like that every Monday morning.

I agree that you'll only ever drive an F1 if you are rich (Hamilton is an exception), but there is a subtlety to the strategy and tactics. I find it fascinating.

Ok, my initial instinct was to hate that....don't mess with 70's classics! But that is awesome. Loved that.

I think whether a military vehicle can withstand an artillery strike or an anti tank projectile, or even an attack from a drone, really does matter. But we will just have to diagree on that point.
November 23, 2024 at 4:00 PM
I'd like to see the specs of those vehicles. I suspect that they are no match against an anti-tank round or shelling.
