Where is the best place to make a request?

I remember the time in school at age 15 when I wrote an opening paragraph for a murder mystery story and then showed the teacher. He said it was at the standard of a grade A. At the time, I hadn't written anything with so much depth and I think that's what got me interested in creative writing.
