MY Grandad's collections are there now.

Sadly not geology, but gardening (AKA Archaeology). We visited a couple of years ago to donate some extra stuff to the collection that I had passed on from an uncle that made more sense to be with the collection than my loft 🤣🤣

Not sure that you meant this... But I went caving once. Still doing it nearly 50 years later 🤣🤣

You call it spelunking, we call it caving. Coniston copper mines UK.

Great to see this impressive waterfall!

It's a long time since I visited iceland and all my pictures are on slides which I must scan. Now I have an easy to use system that screws onto my OM cameras it's a lot easier... maybe this winters project :)

It wasn't the first time he'd claimed something that wasn't the case. His "first wireless transmission over water" was beaten by Sir John Gavey www.cardiffnaturalists.org.uk/htmfiles/150...

I have that book, never expected to meet it for real, but here's a couple from when I put the actual specimen together back in 1986. A real first for the National museum of Wales #dinosaursfromchina

Yes the one in Cardiff was the original fossilized bone with some reconstuctions where needed. Weighed a ton!

Here's a couple of the cast in Nottingham in 2017. I could not get far enough for a decent angle in the photograph. They kindly provided a mirror as an alternative view which worked quite well

It did go on tour after we had the initial exhibition and London was one of the places.

When there was an exhibition in Nottingham a few years ago that was a cast not the actual bones as they wanted a "dynamic" pose that would have damaged the real ones

Why not use the original reconstruction by Rhian Kendall. I know how much effort she put into it and IMO (I may be biased) anyone creating another work based on this should be crediting her even though the original was put into the public domain it would be polite to do so
