Looking at it he is slightly crouched coming in & would he have changed his position more had the change of direction not happened e.g hit shoulders then. Really, I think the only way to make change is any head contact equals red.

fair play the ref went through the steps, they all agreed the shift in direction at the end was mitigating. You could argue was his technique inherently reckless/high from the outset.

the ref was clear I thought in that the mitigating circumstances of the player changing direction at the last minute, but should any head on head contact in the tackle be a red thats the real point.
