Music, books, nature, gardening, running, that sort of thing. Personal views.
I shall investigate, entirely new to me, thank you!

Excellent, thanks. Added to the list!

Likewise! Pains Of Being Pure At Heart tonight...

So yeah, as I was saying...

I'll say Play just to be different, but they're all pretty much perfect.

Well worth a listen too! Owen and Lan from the band went onto The Tubs and Ex-Voïd, two of my current faves...

I hadn't seen it, but I will now make sure I do... Nattesferd is actually my favourite album of theirs or at least it was until I listened to the debut on repeat for the last month for this!

Great choice for number 1 - it goes hard, that album!
November 21, 2025 at 7:12 PM
Didn't know you were a Kvelertak fan too!

@agarr45.bsky.social has Gerry at number 2 as well. Stop the count!

So much great music for #5debutalbums1014. An eclectic 5:

1. Lightships
2. Desperate Journalist
3. Kvelertak
4. Sons Of Kemet
5. Daniel Avery

Very sorry to Alvvays, DIIV, Chvrches, Public Service Broadcasting, Joanna Gruesome, Waxahatchee, Edinburgh School For The Deaf and many more...

Need to go back to The Cords myself - have only given it a couple of listens so far. All of those four you've listed are v close to my top 5 - probably won't pick Ex Void as already have The Tubs in it and Owen Williams really should give others a chance 😀

This is my whittled down long list, suspect there's a few I've missed. Probably a couple of places in my top 5 still up for grabs - Suede, The Tubs and The Laughing Chimes won't need to go through the playoffs...

Volume 3 out this week!!
November 18, 2025 at 6:30 PM
Lovely! I can see at least two, possibly three of my top five in there... (Tubs, Laughing Chimes definitely, Telephone Numbers maybe...)

Scotland are now "resurgent", I see. It's half time.

Fun fact (according to the BBC) - In home Tests played without both Cummins and Hazlewood in the XI, the Aussies have not lost in 13 years. I reckon Starc and Boland will fancy their chances against the England top order...

A little sample just to confirm you're making the right decision... For a man who says he has no smart phone and avoids social media, he certainly knows a lot about Pepe the Frog.

Put it this way, I won't be giving it to the charity bookshop because I would want to inflict it on someone else...

Reading this now. Bought it unaware of any background on the basis of an interesting blurb (made that mistake before with Penguin, going to learn my lesson now). Feels like horseshoe theory in action. At least I can fend off accusations of reading in an echo chamber for a bit, but no, it's not good.
