Even with funding, there’s not enough people to fill the vacancies we have now.

Reducing class sizes might help. But unless there’s a magic money tree the other option is to halve salaries. And that’s not an option.

No it’s not. It means you can’t afford / don’t want to pay a decent amount in comparison to other employers for similar roles.

2020 was a good-sounding year. I looked forward to it for years before. Mathematically it’s great, I turned 40 (20+20), and we had loads of great plans.
