Christianity/The Bible can be (mis)interpreted every which way you choose if you put your mind to it. No interpretation is ‘wrong’ because the whole thing’s built on millennia-old myths and superstitions. Still, better to be kind than a shit.

It’s just nice to have a politician not spewing hate or clambering on to the bandwagon with the hate-spewers. I’m sure he’s not perfect but I’ve voted for - and campaigned for - an awful lot worse.

I agree that there is some cause for optimism. Yes, Trump’s intentions are malign but I believe that, ultimately, they will be undermined by the toxic blend of his extreme narcissism and his crass stupidity.
