This little robin followed us along a stretch of the River Itchen this afternoon, within touching distance most of the time, tilting its little head to inspect us. The kids were thrilled. Friendly & curious? Or perhaps trying to chase us away but charming and festive all the same.

If you think that was a mouthful, get a mouthful of this delicious aged sherry. It is pure Christmas joy in a glass. Crikey, it's good.

A crisp evening & there is a stunning halo around the moon. My garden is illuminated. Perhaps it is time to move over from that "other place", that has become so dark in recent times, to this new one, where things seem a little bit brighter. Light in the dark & all that.
