Ski, bike, hike, climb, camp, etc. Coloradan. Atheist. Nerd. Dad. Had cancer once. Lived.
Kindness, not cruelty. Cats, not dogs.
CU-Boulder alumnus. Srsly in love. Still don’t know how I got so lucky.
He/him/his.
Last 3 elections: Her/non-felonious him/her
If this is tpusa’s idea of a “gotcha” then I don’t think that word means what they think it means. These seem a rather well-reasoned, clearly explained, and non-antagonistic response to the student’s complaint. Is Oklahoma in a different time zone? One about 150 yrs behind?

“The Real Estate Industry” prioritizes listing & facilitating the sale of real estate. I’d be shocked if they ever, voluntarily, would give up their “right” to peddle any property to anyone at anytime regardless of risks or externalities that the law doesn’t clearly & definitively require revealing.

“Planned.” Right. Defeating the Honduran military & government is easy. A plan for what happens next is far beyond their capabilities. Meantime, Hondurans mount an insurgency that can’t win but can’t lose either. The slow drip of US casualties eventually leads to our departure. Lather, rinse, repeat

Galt’s effing Gulch.

It’s not going to turn out the way the non-independently wealthy libertarians think. They all think they’d be Alphas or, at worst, Betas in such a society. They don’t grasp that 99.999% of them will never be in that club, will never be allowed to be more than a Gamma at best.

When he says “we” who does he mean? Because unless the felon has somehow come to his senses, “we” does not include him and until it does, “we” is meaningless.

Are her parents to be rounded up and sent back to Iraq later this week?

If they don’t go all in, many will (should, anyway) go to prison for what they’ve already done. But if they go all in as you describe, they’ll end up dead. They may exercise power for awhile, may seem unbeatable. But in the end, most dictatorships end badly for the dictators and their minions.

1) Alive: The Story of the Andes Survivors

2) Undaunted Courage

3) The Mutiny on the Bounty Trilogy
Captain Bligh’s leadership and seamanship in getting his crew to safety is the stuff of legends. Bligh’s first-hand account is also recommended.

4) The DaVinci Code
Oh, wait…

And so many others…

Excellent summary of what has happened & what it portends. These creeps act outside the law, without honor or courage. This goes for any members of ST6 who willingly participated, if things went down as described. Every officer and enlistee in that unit knows the rules and there’s no gray area here.

I just love it when people who actually know what they’re talking about use their expertise on offense in the seemingly endless fight against the stupid.

I count one glaring punctuation error in that one passage alone. Do MAGA authors deliberately eschew competent editors?

Gee, if only the Senate had been able to access this book…

Reports of his incapacity were newsworthy. He should have turned the reigns over to Harris a year prior. But these reports were not balanced by equally credible observations that he was not meaningfully incapacitated or by the baseline degree of skepticism that should be accorded anonymous sources.

What a disturbingly odious man. How are people like this raised? Is his mom proud?

Hate is a strong word. Tapper has been disappointing. In large part it’s because he isn’t the worst; he knows better. Hopefully he will do better going forward. But his use of Joe Biden’s alleged incapacity as an opportunity for self-promotion, with no thought given to the public cost, was not ok.

It’s a military action only insofar as it’s the military carrying it out. The people targeted aren‘t enemy combatants. The vessels aren’t the instrument of any hostile state policy. Even if those targeted are smugglers (there’s been zero evidence presented to support this) this is insanely illegal.

“I’m so far from the worst” never worked with my mom.

They care about stopping the ones who’ve not deposited the requisite millions into the designated Trump-controlled account. As soon as the cartels have paid up, the drug war will be miraculously “won.”
November 29, 2025 at 6:26 PM
They are not enemy combatants. Don’t allow them any space to plant that (false) initial presumption into the record. And we’ve still seen zero evidence that any of those killed were engaged in any illegal activity at all. “Take our word for it” is some prime bullshit.

No doubt the criminal in the Pentagon would order a sweep of the debris field to ensure no survivors. This whole affair is sickening in its blatant disregard of law, honor, and decency.

“Probably?”

Some of the biggest pushers are the same people who would deny the patient affordable health insurance that she’ll need after her employer finds out she has cancer and makes sure she’s included in the next round of layoffs. ‘Murka!

I showed him the news story and he decided it on his own. It wasn’t in his top 3 anyway. A couple of years ago his older sister was deciding between Grinnell and Carleton. Iowa’s adoption of restrictive abortion/women’s reproductive health laws was a key factor. She’s a happy Carleton junior now.
