Slowly realizing that the decorative north star of every home I make has always been “fully functional, life-size museum diorama”
A bit of dead wall space next to my desk. Bare wood, doesn’t go to the floor, too small and awkward to put a shelf, but too big and unsightly to ignore Bit of Velcro and some old window blinds do wonders! Don’t think about it being a window to nowhere. Or DO think about it leading to nowhere! Then get some blue poster paper, an LED sketch board, thumbtacks… you see where this is going PERPETUAL. DUSK. (For alt- the LED pad and blue poster board are dimly illuminated behind the cracks in the window blinds, creating the illusion of fading twilight outside)

Am I sad that JoAnn Fabric & Craft is dead? Yes. Did I nab a white store shelf basket for $2 from its lifeless corpse and spray paint it bronze? Also yes.
A large metal wire basket from a retail craft store, about two feet wide and likely used for holding bundles of yarn, sitting on a deck chair in the sunlight. It’s been spray painted a rustic bronze.
