The control group sound intensity was 0.2 dBSPL with less than one sound emitted on average per hour, while the stressed plants emitted sound intensities of 61.6 dBSPL(tom) and 65.6 dBSPL(tobac), with a sound emitted between 11 and 35 times per hour on average.

These sounds are detectable from several meters away and show stressed plants emit significantly more sounds than from the non-stressed plant control groups.
