We're not in a tournament setting and there aren't judges about to DQ you - we can actually have a conversation about the real life logistics of how things REALLY function without just quoting MTR phrases.

If the goal was to fully prevent ever having intentional draws or concessions to have both players get what they want, there would be a rule saying that a match must be played and not allow concessions without playing.

But you can't say "I want ____" or similar to the opponent when you're trying to sort out who is to get what parts of the prize support

You're saying that as someone experienced and who has been around the concept for a long time though.

Anyone new to the comp magic scene for the first time is going to find it obtuse and frustrating to get the intended result easily, and may not even know the minimum of "get a judge to mediate"

I feel like we have to be able to come up with a system to figure this shit out that isn't so filled with accidental traps and gotchas. It just sucks and should require someone giving you a lecture before/outside the event to explain what to do and what not to do.
