So just this is actually really nice. Fits snug. If I heat it up it would probably form to the corners a bit more.

Now here is an idea that would me more difficult for me to contest. Some sort of towel, stitched in a way to seat over a ddr bar like a saddle, that has imbedded thicker foam and possibly heavy weighted bags to keep it from slipping.
I already prefer 3 folded towels and this would refine that idea.

For me personally, yes. The masses most likely not. I own 4 dance cabs for authenticity sake. I'm well aware that I struggle to play the most on a DDR bar. But I also recall my ITG beginnings started on DDR bars. So it's not that I can't adjust, it's that it's so much easier to use any other bar.

Bar height/width is so critical to form that making such alterations would come off as cheating imo. A public place would probably kick you out for making alterations to their machine. So anyone who doesn't personally own a cab would struggle to use one of these in practice.
