Trashy cinephile. Addictions Counsellor in Criminal Justice, UK based in the Forest of Dean, West Country. Navigating the whole darned thing of midlife, and its flotsam and jetsam.

So many tributes to David Lynch and I haven’t seen many mention Wild at Heart! I saw it at a screening and every delirious and passionate minute of it is burned into my brain. Tied for best ever use of Richard Strauss in a movie.

As I’m newly invited, I thought I should bring flowers as a thank you.
Here’s a glimpse of the garden over the last year. Just to confirm there’s some spectacular technology on display here behind the scenes (namely black A4 card held behind the blooms). Have a peaceful Sunday morning 🌅.

A recent portrait I took of Rusty, who will be a welcome guest for the Holidays.
We will be mostly bonding over audiobooks and sofa cuddles with additional massage behind the ears, which guarantees droopy eyelids and a drop onto my lap. 🙂

When historians and directors clash: ‘Ridley Scott was Napoleonic – there was no doubt who was in charge’
Film and TV have a slippery relationship with the truth when it comes to historical epics. So spare a thought for the historical experts whose advice often goes unheeded

Now residing in the year 802,701 AD thanks to H.G Well’s ‘The Time Machine’. Fantastic stuff.
It’s taken me 56 years to realise that the fear of the abandoned train tunnel behind my childhood home was not due to phantom strangers or abandoned WW2 bombs. It was a fear of Morlocks.
