2015 to 2025. A lot can change in 10 years. I accomplished this through diet and exercise alone. #weightloss #beforeandafter #thinthings

Besides election coverage tonight, I’m going to watch the 4K of The Lost Boys and Dario Argento’s The Bird With The Crystal Plumage.

Watching It: Welcome to Derry reminds me so much of this Halloween photo from 1958 courtesy of Shorpy. “Kodachrome taken by a school teacher of her class in Michigan 1958. Collection of Joe Geronimo.” www.shorpy.com/node/13881

I’m thoroughly disappointed in my friends. For the past month I’ve tried to have a small party where we eat snacks and watch John Carpenter’s The Fog in 4K. People cancelled, could never make it, or just left me hanging. Here it is almost Halloween and I guess I’ll be watching it by myself.

I still can’t get over the colors in Messiah of Evil. I really need a 4K disc.

Tonight’s film is Messiah of Evil (1974 but filmed in 1971). Such an interesting film visually and conceptually. Starring Marianna Hill, Michael Greer, Anitra Ford, Royal Dano, and Elisha Cook Jr. It’s a shame the original 35 mm negative was lost.

Who else is watching IT: Welcome to Derry? I do love a good Stephen King universe story.

Tonight’s film is Black Sabbath (1963) from Mario Baba starring Boris Karloff, Mark Damon, Michèle Mercier, Susy Andersen, Lydia Alfonsi, Glauco Onorato, and Jacqueline Pierreux. A masterpiece.

You haven’t truly heard music until you listen to it through some good Sennheiser headphones. I also need to get my HD 600s working again.

If you want a “so bad it’s good” Halloween movie, I highly suggest Mark of the Witch (1970) on Tubi. My god it’s a masterpiece in delicious camp tragedy.

Tonight’s film is The Ugly Stepsister (2025). If you haven’t seen it, see it now as it’s a masterpiece. The use of late 1970s/early 1980s European style filters as well as new wave music for certain scenes is genius.

Tonight’s film is Happy Birthday To Me (1981) with Melissa Sue Anderson, Glenn Ford, Lawrence Dane, Sharon Acker, Frances Hyland,Tracey E. Bregman, and Lisa Langlois. A fun little Canadian slasher.

Tonight’s film is Sleepwalkers (1992) with Brian Krause, Alice Krige, Mädchen Amick, Lyman Ward, Cindy Pickett, Ron Perlman, and the Glenn Shadix. A Stephen King guilty pleasure.

Fun fact: Lyman Ward and Cindy Pickett also played the married couple in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.

Saw The Dark Crystal (1982) for the first time on the big screen yesterday and I think my favorite character might be Aughra, especially when she’s in her home studying her orrery. I need more.

I’m off to go see The Dark Crystal in theaters. I’ve never seen it before!

Rest in peace to my girl, Diane Keaton. I grew up with her and am shocked she has left us so suddenly.

Thoroughly enjoyed the Australian horror film, Bring Her Back, starring Billy Barratt, Sora Wong, Jonah Wren Phillips, and Sally Hawkins. Please give Sally Hawkins the Oscar and BAFTA award for best actress.
