New paintings!!

The Western Screech Owl has moved back into the birdhouse.

New painting: Cave Creek Canyon, Chiricahua Mountains.

For quite some time I've had a feather quill pen and the appropriate ink, but I've never used them. So my new policy is that I have to use them for grocery lists. No pen or pencil, no typing into my phone. I can use them for other things, too, but it's mandatory for grocery lists.

Golden Eagle in the Ladd Waterfowl area, close to Socorro.

1.7 billion year old schist (I think), a remnant of an island that joined the continent almost that long ago, along with a long arc of fellow islands. The weakened scar of this event is the Jemez lineament, a chain of volcanoes stretching from Show Low to Raton.
