Me: Reducing furry culture to purely costuming and art, or even worse, to sex, eliminates the very real success it has as a counterculture. It takes away from the fact that it's an environment where those at the fringes of society can feel welcome.

Keeping myself in my own little corner of furry joy has been inexpressibly wonderful for me. It keeps me from enduring a lot of pain and angst from others. Even local furs at meets often don't get the time of day from me. I found my corner of the sky <3

You don't need to attend meets or own a suit to be a furry. You don't need to settle on one particular sona to be a furry. You don't need to buy commissions to need a furry. Thinking anthropomorphic animals are cool is plenty. You belong <3 That is enough.
